Landservices takes our clients’ needs seriously. Our long term relationships with customers improve property values. We do this (where desired) by working with our clients to help them see and implement functional correction and improvement. This is done using a Design Process: a Six-Stage approach to systematically take a “design-team” approach to create a long term masterplan. This is the “road-map” to follow for installing phases of a project, or the total landscape.

The process includes:

1. First Meeting(s) "Data-Gathering #1"
This is data from you, and includes touring the area completely (inside as well). After listening and observing personality style, site features and constraints, information is recorded which helps us “see” what the client sees – and begins to “match” that to the property characteristics, and why the client chose to live there. This information (notes of client “likes and dislikes”, needs, etc.) is recorded.
2. Base Sheet development, Site Analysis, "Data Gathering #2"
This is site or geographic data observed and sketched onto an existing scaled site plan of the house and property lines. This becomes the Base Sheet, which is created using a copy of the site plan to “graphically” inventory other existing features such as: plants, walks, drive(s), water meter and house shut-off, other adjacent property lines, and any other existing items/features that exist now even though they could be removed, later. Notes are also made as to views, exposures, and circulation patterns, "sense of entry", utility needs, and others, in order to have a complete "base" of information to design from. Photography (digital and/or video) is also used here to provide a "before", as well as the obvious assist it provides the designer at a design table.
3. Preliminary Design
The data collected in phase one and two provide the ability to compose a scaled-preliminary sketch design of the total proposed concept for client review, (minus specific details / Not For Construction).
4. Preliminary Design Meeting
This next visit is a “key” meeting with our client: it reviews, and needs honest critique of the preliminary concept. Two blueprints are provided: one, the designer "redlines" with client input, and takes it with him/her for use to provide the...
5. Final Design
A construction-ready document is produced here, providing necessary detail for implementing the work to come (or phases of the work, if desired).
6. Final Design Meeting: The final product
Time is spent here to review the specifics, including plant names, descriptions of materials, etc.

Though this is our best recommendation, more simple alternatives may be desired. Landservices, Inc. does consulting and project management based on client budget and need.
